Gellants
The gelling agent GELV-19 is used in technologies for directed acid treatment of reservoir zones, carried out to intensify oil production. The reagent acts as a diverter in self-diverting acid compositions based on hydrochloric acid, used for treating carbonate reservoirs.
The principle of operation is based on the ability of the composition to form a gel when interacting with the reservoir rock, which is capable of deflecting subsequent portions of the composition into less permeable areas. Thus, more uniform processing across the volume is achieved with the creation of a network of wormhole channels.
